Cancer vs pain in the shoulder
When father had metastatic liver cancer decisions were easy to make:
- do whatever not to let father feel pain
This basically meant giving lots of painkillers which completely messed up his digestion system which again had to be restored with more medicine… all sad things to do when a person already is suffering from a bad liver.
Yet with mom’s Pain in the shoulder things are different. This is a cure-able problem, just that it comes with the nuisance of an operation and then being 6 to 12 weeks without hands (mom only has 1 hand and that’s exactly the hand on the arm that needs surgery).
Now her friend with only 1 arm and a half just got a prosthetic shoulder on her good arm, so she now is kind of trying to find her bearings with her half arm. All in all easier said than done, but with the spirit I always admire of so called handicapped people she told mom : "you get quite inventive after a few hours lying in bed"…
Today mom has to see another specialist, and then we will take it from there.
